Thunder over the Mountain

We've been having wind & rain storms one after the other for weeks it seems... the ground is heavily saturated and walking around the property is like tip toeing on a wet sponge. Its nothing to be surprised over, however, as it is typical early spring weather.

My friend Rebecca from KneeDeepOriginals is clear across the continent from me and although we do not share a common horizon, we are both mountain gals. So, from her mountains she created this lovely Etsy Treasury...

"Part of the Finding Fine Art Treasury Blitz... these fabulous colors create quite a storm when seen all in one place! And, interestingly enough, while I have been creating this collection, a storm came up over our mountain, threatening our internet connection and scaring one of my dogs! Yikes!"

The turquoise blue & orange combination is a striking one- both colors were childhood favorites and are still amongst my favorite colors today. It was an honor to have one of Brizel's Silk Tapestry Boxes featured in this gorgeous collection:

"Brizel Handcrafts presents Smiling Fox, a gorgeous decorative Silk Tapestry box, made of eco-friendly silk sari yarns, a unique nature trinket !

Smiling Fox is a fun fiber arts container featuring upcycled hand dyed silk sari yarn in a rich deep turquoise blue paired with a vibrant orange with red highlights."

"It has a lid of its own which is embellished with a handsome ceramic fox. Smiling Fox thinks she is a smart all knowing trixter and... well, she's probably right :)

This animal Silk Tapestry Box measures approx: 3 1/2" in diameter x 3" high with an interior box of 2 1/2" in diameter x 2 1/8" high."

Click HERE to visit Smiling Fox in my Etsy shop. There you will find other animal theme Silk Tapestry Boxes as well !

Much gratitude to Rebecca for
her continued loving support of my work...

Here is a perfect complimentary piece
which would have been a wonderful candidate
for Thunder over the Mountain

"In the midst of summer, a voice rings out each morning and every evening... the voice of the wood thrush, captured here in this painting full of vibrant color to celebrate the song of this bird and the joy of summer. While the wood thrush stays in the depth of the woods during the heat of the day, I have placed it here in this painting singing to the sun in an effort to combine two of my favorite things of this season."
