ArtFire Collection: Of The Earth by TekaandZoe

Autumn is now officially here. Seems a little sudden but really mama earth has been whispering hints of fall for several weeks. In this neck of the woods, it's a little early as we enjoy Indian Summers... somehow I feel sure that we will still enjoy some warm days ahead... in fact, as I look at the forecast, we may see a few days above 100F yet.

I sat outside yesterday, enjoying a little personal time, journaling and made a note of all the nature sounds I heard... birds drinking from buckets of water, bugs buzzing, crows clicking as they flew over head, lizards scurrying across leaves, a frog croaking, wasps looking for insects to kidnap, woodpeckers pecking at bark, hummingbirds hovering to check out my colorful shirt... How busy nature can bee :)

OF THE EARTH

I love this ArtFire Collection... OF THE EARTH curated by TekaandZoe. You can click HERE to see it live, although it will not look the same due to items having sold :)

The colors and products in the above version hold their own and yet this grouping of beautiful wares have an overall grounding effect that holds true for the element that it seeks to represent. Well done !

Thanks so much, I am delighted that one of Brizel Handcrafts' Silk Tapestry Hip Pouches was included in this earthy Collection...

But before you do... you'll want to feast your eyes on these gorgeous Gypsy Earrings... handcrafted by my curator-du-jour, TekaandZoe...

"Disks of copper, first shaped and then enameled. The inspiration for the color was the beads. I fell in love with these Czech beads. This pair uses numerous colors and firings to achieve this blend of Dark Grey with Oranges, Reds, Sunflower and more. Each earring has 35 bead wraps, so 70 for the pair. They are assembled with oxidized sterling silver and have handcrafted ear wires."

Don't you think they would go perfectly with my Hip Pouch... oh yeah... gorgeous !!!

By the way...
Teka and Zoe are the names of
the chihuahuas that look to this artisan :)

ArtFire Collection: Green, Green Grass of Home by Jewelrybyjane29

In my neck of the woods... which is mountain range in the desert belt of California, summer is the season of gold & golden sunsets reflected on the dry wild grasses. Our summers are typically hot & dry starting in May/June all the way through October/November. So... that's no rain for about 5-6 months of the year.

Verdant green grass is something that I can look forward to when the rains begin here... but in the meantime... I get to enjoy GREEN, GREEN GRASS OF HOME: an ArtFire Collection curated by Jewelrybyjane29.

GREEN, GREEN GRASS OF HOME
I love green ! There is something so refreshing about most shades of this color... usually so alive and melodic. Well... at least to this mountain girl :) Click HERE to check out this Collection of green goodies that may make you envious for some of these beautiful products.

Thank you, I was doubly blessed by having two items from Brizel Handcrafts featured... one of which was a mint green Satin Hip Button Belt and then one of my Silk Tapestry Hip Pouches as well...

"Paisley Green, a bohemian style ooak wearable fiber art belt bag... a unique Silk Tapestry Hip Pouch perfect for special occasions & events !

This groovy multicolored waist purse features handcrafted multicolored silk sari yarn with cobalt blue, red, green, & orange accents and contoured with apple green banana silk yarn. It is carefully embellished with a pierced paisley motif vintage button, which secures the closure flap and it is synthesized on a hand woven apple green Guatemalan cotton sash."

Brizel Handcrafts sells apple wood Brigid Crosses & delicious OOAK special occasion items: Silk Tapestry Hip & Table Pouches, Table Rugs, Boxes & Hearts, as well as satin Hip Button Belts, and tagua nut jewelry. Click HERE to visit my studio on ArtFire.com !

My curator-du-jour, Jane, has been making jewelry for about seven years now... "While living in a gold area of the Mojave Desert my husband took up gold prospecting. So that I wouldn't be a prospectors widow I decided in going along with him. From my first trip out I started picking up interesting rocks and bringing them home.

On a trip to Laughlin Nevada we came upon a rock and jewelry show and a lady that was teaching wire wrapping... Creating Jewelry is a learning experience everyday but I truly enjoy finding that special rock and turning it into a piece of jewelry or creating something special. I find no greater joy then to make something with my hands that the wearer loves."

Here is a beautiful green spiral necklace that Jane featured in the GREEN, GREEN GRASS OF HOME Collection...

"Everyone will be green with envy when you wear this Triple Spiral Necklace. It is made using Preciosa Rainbow Opaque seed beads, Green Fiber Optic Cats eye beads and 8/0 Dyna-Mites Ceylon Green Beads. It measures a full 18 1/2 inches and has a beaded toggle and loop closure."

Jane is "a Self Representing Artist SRAJD which means I make and sell all my own work. Your satisfaction is what I strive for. This is an original Jewelry by Jane 29 design."

ArtFire Collection: Chocoholics Unite ! by YourTime

Today is a good day to celebrate and how better to do it than with chocolate ?!

CHOCOHOLICS UNITE ! That's right ! its a call, a plea... for a march down to one's own cupboards or freezers- to get that chocolate out... and have a feast. And if you should do that, have several on me... it's my birthday today :)

CHOCOHOLiCS UNiTE !
Curated by YourTime... this ArtFire Collection is simply put: delicious... whether or not the products are edible. Check out the -real- CHOCOHOLICS UNITE ! on ArtFire.com by clicking HERE... and watch out ! those chocolate covered bananas which appear to be made for consumption... are incense cones. Yep, sorry to disappoint... best to raid your own stash before entering these dangerous realms of... chocolate themed products. lol

YourTime was kind enough to feature one of Brizel Handcrafts' Silk Tapestry Hip Pouches...

"Brizel Handcrafts presents Double Chocolate Tweed, a bohemian style ooak wearable fiber art belt bag... a unique Silk Tapestry Hip Pouch perfect for special occasions & events !

A rich multicolored waist purse featuring recycled silk sari yarn in dark & light chocolate rainbow browns. This Silk Tapestry pouch has been carefully embellished with a carved brown vintage button, which secures the front closure flap, and synthesized on a hand woven Guatemalan cotton sash belt in rich earth brown tones."

Zoom on down to my ArtFire studio to take a peek at my Silk Tapestry Hip Pouches.... Click HERE to visit Brizel Handcrafts !

I knew YourTime had her own secret stash in her studio... so with anticipation I rummaged and behold, this delicious looking item:

Mint Chocolate invigorating Body Scrub

"Wake up to mint dark chocolate chip cookies !!
Invigorating body scrub is loaded with rich Hawaiian raw sugar (also know as turbinado sugar), Dark Chocolate and Sweet Almond oil for a yummy treat for your body. Completely vegan.

Why chocolate, you ask? Chocolate is loaded with anti-aging vitamins and minerals, especially dark chocolate. Plus, the caffeine in cocoa is said to help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Turbinado or Raw Hawaiian sugar is a natural exfoliator that is much gentler than crushed nuts or shells etc., so you can easily use it all over your body, without fear of over scrubbing. Plus, it dissolves as you use it so you don't have to clean up the mess that nuts or nut shells leave behind. The turbinado sugar in this scrub is balanced by smooth brown sugar to make this scrub even more gentle on your skin.

Sweet Almond oil is light and easily absorbed by the skin, plus it is a rich source of Vitamin E.

A unique wooden scoop is included with this scrub, and lets you get just the right amount of scrub for each use. See last picture for a picture of the wooden scoop.

This listing is for 4 oz of Mint Chocolate Dreams Invigorating Body Polish with a Wooden Scoop. There are no added chemicals or preservatives and no mystery ingredients."

That's right ! Chocolate does not have to be mysterious at all... IT JUST... IS and the mere fact that it does exist... ROCKS my world !

Thanks so much YourTime for a lovely Collection, feature AND for making delicious products. Click HERE to visit her studio of ArtFire.com !

"Love by any other name... a one of a kind organic fine silver necklace... features a Fine Silver (.999) heart shaped pendant that I have made from scratch using Metal Clay* (PMC3). I have incorporated in the design a lovely lab grown 4mm Ruby, and I managed to get some very neat colors from the Liver of Sulfur patina that I have applied on it. The pendant is hallmarked at the back as .999 silver."

Thanks so much for the feature, Nathalie !

Treasury Thanks... Brydferth

I'm very thrilled to have one of my Silk Tapestry Hip Pouches featured in an Etsy Treasury and even more so because the theme is one close to my heart, the Mediterranean.

Having ancestral origins from this part of the world... and having lived in the South of France in my teens, and later on in the Canaries (Lanzarote)... I feel that my work has been deeply influenced by the Mediterranean. The expansiveness of azure blue of skies & waters... the incredible bright hot sun and stunning moon risings... the rich contrasting colors... the intricate patterns and motifs... the aromas and artistic layouts of culinary dishes... its distinct architectural lifestyle... synthesizing outdoor elements into the home... the beauty of the landscape and its colorful agricultural crops... well... the list could go on forever... lol

Hailey Rose, Etsy shop owner: Brydferth, is hungering to visit the Mediterranean... she dreams of it and in celebration of her future voyage... created this lovely Treasury:

GOING TO THE MEDITERRANEAN

There you will see one of Brizel Handcrafts' beautiful Silk Tapestry bags: Lagoon Tweed ... "This delicious green toned ooak Brizel Silk Tapestry Hip Pouch, made of hand spun teal green & light multicolored chocolate silk sari yarns, is just perfect for your special occasion needs !"

"Lagoon Tweed has been embellished with a delicious complimentary vintage button, which secures the front closure flap... Synthesized on a hand woven Guatemalan ikat cotton sash of deep sea green with whispering white 'clouds', my unique (one of a kind) silk tapestry hip pouch has my special Brizel logo: a lilac faux swede label with the Brigit cross, rising sun and full moon, to assure you that this pouch is handmade by me."

I love how the design worked out on this pouch... I had just acquired some gorgeous multicolored brown silk sari yarn... it was so soft and so fine that when I paired it up with the teal green silk sari yarn... and then with the vintage button and hand woven sash... it just sang !

And now a little about Hailey Rose and her wonderful Etsy shop: Brydferth. Her profile reads: "I am a farm girl, a fashionista, a soon to be bride, a lover of life and nature. I find my inspiration on a daily basis from the farm, people, the mountains, the seasons. Life is beautiful and that is why I chose to name my shop Brydferth. Brydferth is the Welsh word for Beautiful. I am half Welsh and so I decided to bring a bit of the old world roots into my life by choosing a Welsh word."

Brydferth is indeed well named as the shop is filled with gorgeous accessories and jewelry that focus on highlighting the rose into beautiful wearable floral arrangements. There you will find many wondrous creations including headbands, necklaces, brooches, earrings, bracelets, rings, and bobby pins & clips.

Here are some of my favorites...

Pictured above... Bright rosette headband, featuring fuchsia pink cotton rosettes, violet cotton rosette, baby pink cotton rosette and another pink cotton blend rosette.

Pictured below... Rosette Necklace Chocolate Linen, Romantic Silk and pretty Tan Trio.

Hailey has "a constant burning desire to make things. I have a little studio in my home where I try to make most of my creations happen but the kitchen table tends to be a popular place as well for these creative moments."

Well... that is indeed a Mediterranean concept right there... creative moments happening in the kitchen. lol. Below... Winter Ice Blue and White Rosette Bib Necklace, Silk and Cotton.

Please click on the title of the pieces to get to the product listings which will also take you to our Etsy shops.

Wishing this Treasury every success and the best of luck on future voyages to the Mediterranean !
